Preparing for your scan

If you have had any x-rays or scans elsewhere that may pertain to the exam you are about to have, please get them or have them sent here prior to you exam.

What to expect   

You will be changed into a hospital type gown and positioned on your back on a special exam table. (not as hard as an x-ray table)   Gel will be applied to your chest and a special ultrasound probe will be used to produce images of your heart through your chest, using sound waves.  There will be slight pressure applied to the chest area, otherwise the exam is quit painless.

Approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour
